First Official Sleepover

Our first official sleepover happened! Hoorah. It was our wedding anniversary. What better way to spend the night than going out for dinner and then walking home from the pub to stay in Hetty. For more than one reason, you definitely do not want to be too inebriated when you sleep in Hetty, unless you opt for the pull out bed that is mostly suitable for vertically challenged people, such as my good self, which is on the ‘ground floor’ level, rather than the penthouse bedroom (above the cab).

I don’t know about you, but when I wake up for a wee in the night, I really do need a wee, and my body no longer offers me the luxury of ‘holding it in for a while’ – if you know, you know. Having to navigate from a confined space, backwards down some beautifully crafted stairs and then climb over a dog is not something to be done either in a hurry or when you are desperate for the loo.

The first sleepover went well. The mattress is incredibly comfortable and fits in the space really well, so no gaps either side you might find a limb slipping into. The main constraint is the close proximity of the ceiling. If you’re a person who is prone to sitting bolt upright in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, Hetty is definitely not the right accommodation for you.

Looking forward to the next longer sleepover, where we try out the amenities a bit more.
